Bangla Phonetic Keyboard (the "App") is built and maintained by an independent developer. This Privacy Policy explains, in plain English, what data the App handles and what it does not. It covers both the keyboard extension and the in-app AI content generation feature.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described below. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the App.
2. Keyboard Extension
The keyboard is private by default. It works completely offline and does not require Apple's "Full Access" permission.
- It does not call any external API or server.
- It does not transmit your keystrokes or phonetic input anywhere.
- Shortcuts you type or save are stored locally on your device only.
- No data from your keyboard usage is collected, stored, or transmitted.
What you type stays on your phone.
3. AI Content Generation
The App includes an AI feature that generates Bengali content — birthday wishes, poems, social posts, and more — based on your input.
When you use this feature, your answers to the in-app questions and any text you provide are sent to the App's server, which forwards the request to a third-party AI provider (OpenAI) and returns the result to your device.
- Your input and the generated output are not stored on the App's servers.
- No personally identifiable information is required or collected for this feature.
- Your identity is never linked to the content you generate.
Data sent to OpenAI is processed under OpenAI's privacy policy, available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
4. Analytics & Usage Data
The App uses third-party analytics to understand usage patterns and prioritize improvements. For this purpose, the following device-level identifiers may be collected:
- OpenUDID
- Advertising Identifier (IDFA)
- Advertising ID
This data is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally.
5. User Feedback
Suggestions and feedback that you choose to share are used solely to improve the App — fixing issues, refining features, and shaping what comes next.
You are not required to submit any personally identifying information when providing feedback.
6. Data Storage & Security
The App does not require a user account, and no personal data is stored on its servers.
- Your shortcuts and keyboard data remain on your device.
- AI content inputs and outputs are not retained after generation.
- No user profiles are maintained that are tied to your identity.
Where data is transmitted — for example, during AI generation — it is sent over standard secure connections.
7. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed to children under the age of 13, and personal information from children under 13 is not knowingly collected. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please get in touch and it will be removed promptly.
8. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time to reflect changes in the App or in applicable law. When that happens, the "Effective Date" at the top of this page will be revised. Please review this policy periodically.
